Ingredients
Caramel Cake Batter:
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1/4 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
Apple Mixture:
2 large Granny Smith apples, diced
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Whipped Cream Topping:
1 cup heavy cream, chilled
1/3 to 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Additional Toppings:
1/2 cup apple butter (optional)
Caramel sauce for drizzling
Ground cinnamon for sprinkling

Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Caramel Cake Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of buttermilk, 2 large eggs, 1/4 cup of vegetable oil (or melted butter), 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup of caramel sauce. Mix with a hand mixer until well combined.
