Ingredients:
4 green onions
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, sliced into large strips
500g (1 lb) beef, sliced thinly against the grain
For the Marinade:
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
For Cooking:
Salt and sugar, to taste
2 tablespoons oil (for cooking)
1/4 cup rice wine
Crushed black pepper, to taste
Water, as needed

Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients:
Cut the green onions into 2-inch sections, separating the white and green parts.

2

Crush and finely mince the garlic.
Slice the onion into large strips.

3

Marinate the Beef:
In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, baking soda, cornstarch, oil, and sesame oil. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Set aside for about 15-20 minutes.

4

Stir Fry:
Heat a pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of oil.
Add the white part of the green onions and the sliced onion. Stir fry briefly until fragrant and slightly softened. Season lightly with salt and a pinch of sugar. Remove from the pan and set aside.

5

Cook the Beef:
In the same pan, add another tablespoon of oil if needed. Add the marinated beef, spreading it out in a single layer. Let it pan fry without stirring until the bottom is slightly browned.
Flip the beef slices over and add the minced garlic. Stir fry briefly until the garlic is aromatic and the beef is about 70% cooked.

Add soaked rice and Sauce:
Pour in the soaked rice around the edges of the pan to deglaze. Let it cook off for a few seconds.
Add dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, and a splash of water. Stir well to combine. The cornstarch from the marinade will thicken the sauce. If needed, add more water gradually to achieve desired consistency.

Final Assembly:
Season with crushed black pepper to taste.
Add back the cooked onions and green parts of the green onions. Stir briefly to combine everything evenly.
Once the sauce has thickened and coats the beef nicely, remove from heat.

6

Serve:
Serve the beef and onion stir fry hot, accompanied with steamed rice or noodles.

This Beef and Onion Stir Fry recipe offers a delicious and quick solution for a satisfying meal at home. Tender slices of beef are infused with a savory-sweet sauce, complemented by the crunch of fresh onions and the aromatic touch of garlic.
